101 Microlights & Crews flogen am 24./25.6.2006 an das 1. Fly-In nach Mollis

Das 1. Microlight Fly-In der Schweiz lockte viele Microlight-Piloten in das schöne Glarnerland. Schon am Freitag, 23.6., reisten
9 Maschinen aus Deutschland, Dänemark und Polen an. Die Nr. 1 flog in vier Stunden direkt von Berlin nach Mollis und landete
am Freitag um 14.30 Uhr in Mollis. Am Samstag herrschte sonniges und heisses Wetter. 91 Teams landeten am Samstag in
Mollis und wurden herzlich empfangen. Aus England reisten 20 Maschinen an, eine aus Slowenien, verschiedene aus Frankreich
oder Belgien und die meisten kamen aus Deutschland. Das schöne Wetter nutzten verschiedene Piloten für einen Ausflug in die
reizvollen Alpen. Andere genossen die fröhliche Stimmung im Festhangar und pflegten den Gedankenaustausch. Am Sonntagmor-
gen traten nahezu alle Teams wieder die Heimreise an. Mehrere Teilnehmer flogen eine Luftlinie von über 1000 km.

Gewinner der Special Awards:

250 Euro für das schönste Microlight (Savage):Thomas Huber aus Deutschland
250 Euro für den weitesten Flug (1050 km Luftlinie): Peder Traerup aus Dänemark
Borduhr für den ersten Arrival (Freitagnachmittag): Jürgen Totz aus Deutschland
Fliegeruhr für letzten Arrival (Samstagabend): Roland Fesenmayr aus Deutschland

Anlass durch tragischen Unfall überschattet:
Auf einem Rundflug verunglückten Peder Traerup und Finn Pedersen aus Silkeborg (DK) am Samstagabend, 24. Juli, 3 km südlich
von Zernez (CH), bei der Rückkehr von Livigno (I), tödlich. Das Büro für Fluguntersuchung wird abklären, weshalb das Flugzeug aus-
ser Kontrolle geraten war (vermutlich Gewitterturbulenzen/Windscherungen). Wir werden die beiden sympathischen Fliegerkameraden
in guter Erinnerung behalten.

Unsere weitgereisten Fliegerfreunde flogen
zum Teil über 1000 km nach Mollis.

Many thanks for organising a great event. We have a great visit to Mollis and an exciting trip through France and back. You and your team's hospitality was great with the
transport and hotel organised brilliantly. We didn't actually fly all the way home and our planes G-KEVI and G-JBSP are still at Charleville in the Ardennes region of France.
We left them there after diverting when the weather in North East France was not good, we waited 2 days but had to leave in the end to get back to work. We travelled back
on the train and hope to return next week to continue another trip round France. Very many thanks to all your team. P.S. great hat, I will wear it with pride to show I was at
Mollis, the stickers are on my aeroplane also.

I am just emailing you to thank you for an awe inspiring weekend. The event was first class and I thank you and all your helpers in making the stay so pleasant for us. The
view as we turned downwind at Mollis makes for one of the greatest flying moments I have had so far.I was though deeply saddened to hear of the loss of the Danish Crew.
It was a great shock and has affected all of those I have spoken to on our return. Please pass on my sincere condolences to the families affected.

We flew from Manchester England to Mollis via Calais(LFAC) Epernay (LFSW) and Montbeliard (LFSM) a total of 1157 km and we all want to visit again next year.

a wonderful event you put on for us in the most spectacular scenery I have ever flown in. The talk is all of the down wind leg at the Mollis airfield ! May I thank you and ask
you to thank everyone who worked so hard to look after us with buses to our hotels, food, fuel and all the martials and helpers.
